Yes, absolutely. Timber construction is a fully recognised and legally approved construction method across India. Our structures are engineered and certified to meet or exceed the requirements of the National Building Code of India, and are designed by licensed structural engineers.
Regulatory approval requirements vary by state and local authority. Our team manages the full approvals process as part of our service, including building permit applications, structural certifications and any required third-party inspections.

We conduct regular design review sessions throughout the design phase, presenting drawings, 3D visualisations and material samples so you can make informed decisions with complete confidence before anything is committed to production.
A dedicated KK Group Homes project manager is assigned to your project from day one and remains your single point of contact throughout design, production and construction. They are responsible for budget, programme, quality and communication.
You will receive weekly written progress reports including site photographs, budget updates and any decisions requiring your input. You are also welcome to visit the site or our production facility at any point during the project.
PEFC stands for the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification — the world's largest forest certification system. PEFC certification provides independent assurance that the timber used in your home has been sourced from forests that are managed sustainably, responsibly and legally.
This means the forests from which our timber originates are managed to protect biodiversity, worker rights and local communities, and that for every tree harvested, more are replanted. We use only PEFC-certified timber on every project — without exception.
Timber is the only major structural material that is both renewable and carbon-sequestering. Growing trees absorb CO₂ from the atmosphere, and that carbon remains locked in the timber long after the tree is harvested and incorporated into a building.
By contrast, the production of concrete and steel is extremely carbon-intensive — cement production alone accounts for approximately 8% of global CO₂ emissions. Timber construction also generates significantly less waste on site and requires less energy during manufacture and assembly.
The specific species we use depends on the structural and aesthetic requirements of each project. We commonly work with engineered timber products including cross-laminated timber (CLT), glulam (glued laminated timber) and laminated veneer lumber (LVL), as well as solid sawn timber for specific applications.
For cladding and interior finishes, we offer a range of hardwood and softwood species depending on the visual character your project requires. All species are sourced with full PEFC certification and are specified for their performance characteristics in the Indian climate.

Project timelines depend on complexity, size and site conditions. As a broad guide:
A straightforward cottage might be delivered in 9–12 months from first consultation to handover. A large, complex villa or resort could take 18–24 months. We provide a detailed programme at the start of every project and track against it rigorously throughout.
On a like-for-like basis for a high-specification project, timber construction is broadly comparable in cost to conventional masonry or concrete construction — and in many cases faster to deliver, which itself reduces holding and finance costs.

Payments are structured as milestone-linked instalments tied to clearly defined project stages — design completion, production commencement, site commencement, structural completion, and handover. This ensures you only pay as progress is delivered.
A detailed payment schedule is included in every project contract. We believe in complete financial transparency and will never request advance payments beyond those agreed in your contract.
When properly specified, detailed and maintained, a timber structure will last many generations — comparable to or exceeding the lifespan of conventional masonry construction. We design every structure with the specific climate of its location in mind, specifying appropriate timber species, treatments and protective detailing.
India has a long tradition of exceptional timber architecture — from the ancient temples of Kerala to the wooden palaces of Rajasthan and the traditional homes of Himachal Pradesh — proving that timber can endure Indian conditions beautifully across centuries.
CLT — Cross-Laminated Timber — is an engineered wood product made from layers of solid timber bonded together at perpendicular angles, similar in principle to plywood but at a structural scale. The result is a panel of exceptional strength, stiffness and dimensional stability.
We use CLT for wall panels, floor plates and roof structures because it allows us to achieve large, open spans with minimal material, delivers outstanding acoustic and thermal performance, and enables the precision of factory manufacture that our production facility excels at.
The maintenance requirements of a KK Group Homes structure are straightforward and no more demanding than any high-quality home. Structural timber elements are protected within the building envelope and require no regular maintenance.
Exposed external timber cladding — where specified — will benefit from periodic re-treatment with a suitable protective finish, typically every 5–8 years depending on climate and exposure. We provide every client with a comprehensive Homeowner's Manual at handover covering all maintenance recommendations in detail.
Absolutely — this is one of timber's great architectural strengths. Glulam beams can span distances of 20 metres or more without intermediate supports, enabling vast open-plan interiors, dramatic double-height volumes and cantilevered structures that would be impossible or prohibitively expensive in conventional construction.
